Founded in 2016 in Boulder, Colorado by a team of seasoned coating engineers, FiveNine Optics began with a mission to push Ion Beam Sputtering to new limits. From our earliest projects, we have focused on enabling our customers’ most ambitious technologies, which today include fusion energy, quantum computing, and high-energy laser systems.

OUR FACILITY

Located in Boulder, Colorado, a hub of technology and research, FiveNine Optics operates a highly specialized facility designed for perfection and innovation. Our cleanroom supports advanced Ion Beam Sputtering systems that have been extensively modified by our engineers to deliver the highest performing coatings.

We produce large-format optics for high-energy laser systems and fusion-energy projects, achieving best-in-class laser induced damage thresholds even under challenging environmental conditions. A dedicated super-polishing lab allows us to maintain full control over surface quality and optical loss. Together, these capabilities make FiveNine Optics one of the few facilities capable of delivering truly world-class, ultra-low-loss optics.
